Deuteronomy 33:6
Let Reuben live, and not die;
And let not his men be few.

I bring you God’s word this morning.
This is God’s promise to you in the midst of uncertainty and sometimes hopelessness.

You will live and not die.
Those who will help you shall not be few. Amen

You look at the economy and you see a bleak future. It is ok.
Economic uncertainty will always be a certainty but there is a God that has promised help. His ears are not heavy to hear you neither are His hands too short to reach you (Isaiah 59:1)

Hebrews 13:6
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper…

For the Lord is an ever-present help, even in times of need (Psalm 46:1)

You are scared about the future. It is normal. Who is not? But the difference is that we have committed that future to The Eternal, who knows the end from the beginning.

He is God our hope in ages past. God, the Alpha and the Omega.

Isaiah 8:12–13 (The Message Translation) say:
We all are but we have stood on God’s promises. Don’t be like these people, always afraid somebody is plotting against them.

Don’t fear what they fear.
Don’t take on their worries.

If you’re going to worry, worry about The Holy. Fear God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

Dear Christian,
You are to fear God & not worry about tomorrow.

You cannot do both. Like Moses told the children of Israel, chose life so that you may live. Worry leads to doubt, high blood pressure and consequently death.

Does this mean you should not plan? By all means plan but subject that plan to God’s directives

Jeremiah 10:23
LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps

You worry about your kids & today’s world. Valid.
Your parents also worried about you but you know you are far from where you started from in life.

That same God will help your children.
Do not make rash decisions about their future based on YOUR FEARS.

God…will save to the outermost.

Remember Reuben was a cursed man.
His Dad cursed him deservedly. He did some very bad stuff.
BUT Moses overturned it. He blessed his generation.
My mum taught me that BUT is a very powerful word.
It discountenances the prefix.
It disqualifies what was before it.
Moses disqualified the curse on Reuben.

How does it apply to you?
Oh My Lord,….That is what Christ has done for us.
His sacrifice on the cross disqualified the judgement that was coming towards us.

This is documented in Colossians 2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross

Come into the blessing that Jesus Christ affords us.
For grace and truth came through Him (John 1:17) so that we that were far from the Commonwealth of God can have an opportunity to be United with God.

Hope you were blessed.
Hope in God springs eternal.

Have a blessed day.
